She believes firmly in the multitude of benefits provided by massage therapy, such as improved body image and self esteem, and has firsthand knowledge of how muscles in a chronically tightened state often contain unaddressed emotional baggage. Additionally, she believes massage therapy is a necessity for those living in the Washington, D.C. metro area due to its positive effect on the parasympathetic nervous system. My Dream: To build a wellness practice that people can regularly visit to improve their emotional wellness and physical health. In pursuit of my dream I earned a Reiki III degree in 1999. Later I studied relaxation therapy, and in 2011 became a certified massage therapist by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Body Work.
While at the National Massage Therapy Institute, my pregnancy became an opportunity to customize therapy for pregnant patients and their offspring. I have been refining relaxation techniques, Reiki, massage, reflexology, and breathing techniques (on my family, friends, and myself).
